I AM ENTITLED

By

Michael Kwaku Kesse Somuah

I am just like a little child

who yearns for candies

‘Coz that is where her pleasure lies

I am just like the dog

who growls at the sight of bone

‘Coz its delight is in the marrow and playful bite

I am just like the sun and moon

Of the natural-

‘Coz they are not controlled by artificial muscles

“I am just myself of an art

Of a destined journey,

Genesis by the heavens

‘Coz I have one life, one breath,

passionately, to do poetry”.

And again,

I am the sea of salt poised to teach Peace.

ANSWERS UNKNOWN

Who will smile at the heavens?

For the rainbow to beautify our mornings

Who will knock on the sun?

To prompt us of day and fun

Who will light the glit of stars?

For our perfect evening bars

Who will tilt the moon?

For the slave to have a sleep more

Who will question the planet?

Of not hosting our kind, but vet;

threat of aliens and illusionary objects.

Who will sublime the oceans?

Of its scare and might in motion,

the thunder and lightning,

of its piercing strike and fierce calling.

Who will pour dew on greens?

trees, in concealed and serene plains.

Let the gods rest

And spirits be our guest

Let the drums beat

And the strings swallow its teeth

For nature has called

Without an answer

                  But providence has it all

Hi Gabriel, I am not laying down my pen 'till I live fully and die empty. In projecting Ghana and Africa as a continent, let the pen be our tongue and as a strong magnet of warfare. Thanks good friend

Hi Michael Poets are who they are, I love the 4th stanza. Especially this part. ‘Coz I have one life, one breath, passionately, to do poetry”. Oneal

The kinesthetic wisdom of "dive" comes at me from the p.o.v. of the watched as well as the watcher. Also, the act inarguable meaning, the specifics of which can be debated. Not all poets can transform acts as physical as the dive, with the physical manipulation of the body to prepare for the dive, into paeans to aesthetics and significance. 9.9!!
