   I really enjoyed my first taste of Guy Denning’s work. He seems to create layers of history, the marks on the canvas a testament to life, pain, experience …
   The colours are muted and yet vibrant, somehow offering hope despite the often disturbing nature of the images depicted.
   ‘Human’ and ‘compassionate’, what it is to struggle in the face of something ‘bigger’ than the individual – I think that’s what came across most to me.
