George Bush Sr and what might have been

The founder of the ‘New World Order’, the ex and first unilateral superpower president of the United States, George H. Bush Sr, has recently criticised ex Vice President Dick Cheney, one of the neoconservative team members of the ‘Group of Four’ under the leadership of his son and 43rd president of the US George Bush Jr, along with ex Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for nothing. Either that, or it is too late to criticise.

George Bush Sr has never perhaps realized that if he wanted to do the same he may have chosen the appropriate time to do so, when Bush Jr and his team, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Colin Powell (later replaced by the Condoleezza Rice) were planning and engineering a lie that Iraq was holding Weapons of Mass Destruction, that have never to this day been found.

With this in mind however, it is psychologically absurd that the US and its allies have successfully killed more than 5 million people without a reason.

Close ally and partner in the Iraq war, ex Prime Minster of Great Britain Tony Blair has now accepted this and apologises that he has committed a mistake as they received the information that lead to an attack on Iraq.

It makes no sense if we are to accept Tony Blair’s apology after the killing of 5 million people and destruction of almost all of the Middle East; it does no justice to those who have died. However, we have another issue to be solved on moral grounds, at least for history to be straight as to why Sr. Gorge W. Bush attacked Iraq on 17 January 1991.

Would he like to comment on the fact that the then US ambassador in Iraq April Glaspie conveyed to the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on 25th July 1990 in a meeting that Washington has nothing to do with Arab-Arab conflicts, rather that “we have no opinion.’’

In other words, Washington allowed Saddam to ‘go ahead’ and capture Kuwait’s oil resources to cover the losses of the eight year war with Iran. Glaspie also promised financial support for the reconstruction of Iraq’s infrastructure in the same meeting.

It may also be interesting to recall that Dick Cheney was the defence secretary and gave the order to move and all other such planning, conducting talks on war related expenses with the late Saudi Arabian King Fahd and the exiled Monarch of Kuwait on behalf of then president George W Bush Sr.

Now he is claiming that his son, the president of the unilateral superpower of the world was nothing but naive or rather insane. What he did himself with Iraq thus was the first ever attack on them by the US in history.

He might be right that he is the father of his insane son but being ex president and ex head of the CIA and twice Vice President of the US, why has he never said to the American public that these guys were ‘iron-ass’ and that his son was used by those for the destruction of the world, in particular Iraq. What a disappointment.

One could say therefore that the unilateral superpower has done nothing but enhance the chaos in the world and that today the world is experiencing the worst days in human history.

The world is observing  a total pathetic irritant at its height and seems to have been forcibly prone into the new culture of killing, raping, beheadings and burning human beings alive in a cage or getting them to sit on a bomb and to die with explosives by their own fellow humans; just for boosting the lucrative weapon and oil industries and blackmailing of powerful people in the world. This has all become a tragic comedy seen by those who are at the receiving end of the dollars.

In excerpts from George W Bush’s book ‘Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush’, released recently, the 41st president criticised Dick Cheney in that he was enjoying his own “empire.”

However, that such an “empire” had dragged the world’s accord and replaced harmony with a dangerous and hysterical agitation without an end was not detected by anyone. What Bush Sr innocently just declared is that his son was a victim of “hot rhetoric” which in his world was “pretty easy.” He may not however be bothering to care that such ‘easiness’ has killed millions of people and distracting almost the same number, especially in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia.

However, if we conclude logically from Bush Sr’s views that it was just the action of “hot rhetoric” and hanging Saddam Hussein was also the mistake of a few people, then what was the war on Iraq? Many people think that it was just a testing program of the latest or modern war equipment that the US had made, it subsequently having been established that the Army had lost its importance and modern technology, especially war jets replaced them more decisively for the future war.

Besides, it did not remain a secret as it was accepted by Bush Jr himself that he just wanted to kill Saddam Hussein as he allegedly tried to kill his father Bush Sr. It is either true or false but if a state started to get revenge in such a way then the world’s social structure and function will never be insured by anyone.

Consequently after 25 years hibernation Russia has come back into the international arena after healing its wounds of humiliation and disgrace awarded by their own ex president Gorbachev along the long intriguing plans and Cold War of capitalist forces under the leadership of the US.

In the first phase, on 28th September when Putin announced at the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) that that UN has failed to underwrite justice and to protect the sovereign nations’ integrity, allowing the powerful countries to intervene and topple the legal governments for creating a power vacuum to be fulfilled by the terrorist groups, will ultimately serve nothing but the law of anarchy. It would therefore be dangerous for world peace.

This is why everyone is thinking that Putin has become the voice of peace loving people in the UNGA. As the next day, Russian aeroplanes struck the hideout of ISIS in Syria. This was a message that from now on, unilateral superpowers have been terminated. This was definitely a simple message and everyone understood such action as a challenge to the US.

Thus George Bush Sr might have realized it and might be warning America to perhaps adopt a diplomatic way of solving the world’s issues. If so then why did he not do this himself as we may be observing another world or at least a more peaceful one than we are facing now.

Mr. Sattar Rind, Yes, the opportunity has come and gone. Your article shines light on the consequences of disastrous actions by some and the inactions of others. I’d like to add a comment. During an interview of Jon Meacham, the author of Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush, an interesting question was raised. George W. Bush, Jr. asked Meacham how long is it customary to wait before writing a book of a president. Meacham responded 20-25 years. Bush Jr. appeared disappointed. Perhaps, he’d like some attention sooner than later? Yet, I do not foresee his leaving a legacy which follows that of his father’s. I wonder if Bush Jr.’ biography will be written by someone of Meacham’s caliber or a ghost writer? In conversations of Bush Sr. and Jr., I am reminded of Shakespeare’s Henry IV and his son. According to Shafritz, J.M., Russell, E.W., & Borick, C.P., scholars in public administration, “As he approaches his death, King Henry IV advises the prince to cope with his forthcoming domestic problems by making an effort to ‘busy giddy minds with foreign quarrels.” It appears Bush Jr. did just that with wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Mr. Rind, I look forward to reading more of your articles.
