To the innocent University of Cape Coast students

Setting the record straight

Are students of this noble institution ready to value themselves as intellectuals in the upcoming SRC, l/NUGS and JCRC elections?

Pardon me if I’m being harsh with my language.

We often blame the illiterates of being shallow minded when they take items like clothes and utensils from the national politicians and in the end vote for an incompetent leader. But my brothers and sisters, I can boldly say that some of these illiterates are better off than some of us in the university because some of us, the so called intellectuals end up taking Yoghurts, Sobolo and Kooko from aspirants in the name of incentives on which we base to vote at the detriment of hearing a single policy from these aspirants.

We cry for a formidable Students’ Representative Council front but we keep voting for people in whose eyes we can clearly see there are no trace of students’ interest but end up voting for personal interest driven people in whose hearts beat the drums of selfish desire and this is how we have left the image of UCC.

* We live in a university where students have to fight for space in our lecture theatres

* We live in university where about half of the furniture in our lecture theatres are death traps but we are paying maintenance fees  without accountability

* We live in a university where students have to stand during lectures in the name of inadequate furniture

We live in a university where students pay for what they don’t know, because there is no breakdown of what we pay for

* We live in a university where students pay an annual  internet usage and connectivity fee but don’t have the equal value of service for the money they pay – But why my brothers and sisters, even the few strong WiFi in the university are coded

* We live in a university where level 100z haven’t yet received their identification cards and we are in the second semester

* We live in a university where level 100z haven’t received their SRC lacost and clothes so I ask, what kind of service are we provided with?

We live in a university where huge sums of cedis is being crafted as nudget to build a bus stop so how much will it cost to put up a building?

We live in a university where the ventilation in our lecture theatres is nothing to write home about

* We live in a university where out of ten fans in a lecture theatre we can boast of only one or two that are functional

Do we claim we have student leaders seeking the interests of all students, but which of these student leaders have stood with a bold chest for students?

NOTE: WITH ALL THESE MENACES, WE HAVE INCUMBENTS WHO ARE PART OF THE SRC EXECUTIVE COUNCIL, AND HAVE DONE NOTHING ABOUT THIS  FILTH. BUT ARE CONFIDENT TO STAND BEFORE US THE STUDENTS TO ENTRUST THEM WITH OUR VOTES AGAIN. SO ARE WE GOING TO ELECT THEM TO THEIR  SECOND AGENDA OF THEIR  SELFISH AMBITION TO OFFICE THIS TIME AS THE PRESIDENT OR WHAT?

God have Mercy on us.

My advice to every UCC student is that nobody should vote any incumbents as our SRC president. They are self seekers.

These people are part of the major decision body of the SRC but none of them have spoken against the inconvenience that UCC students are going through, so what makes them fit to rule for the second time?

I know they will come after me but I prefer dying telling the truth than lying to live.

These things I write, are nothing but the truth which we all should stand for, for a better UCC.

I Bring Peace Unity and Accountability.
