Wow. Just wow – this article contains so many unsubstantiated accusations, smears and distortions which makes it difficult to know where to begin.

The tactic of accusing Democrat opponents of allegiance to the Kremlin is s tired old manoeuvre, which only helps to fling mud around and adds to the general putrefaction of American politics. So Trump has business dealings with Russian business? So that makes Trump a stooge of the Kremlin? Wow, this kind of logic, if one can call it that, is precisely what makes understanding American politics such treacherous waters.

When the Soviet bloc existed, they blocked western multinational corporations from accessing their markets and natural resources. The Soviet regime was blasted in the American media as a totalitarian nightmare, preventing business from bringing prosperity. Now that capitalist Russia has opened up to the outside, we denounce those who do business with the Russian capitalist class as naive stooges of the Kremlin.

Putin and trump have said nice things about each other – imagine, right wing nationalist politicians stating that they can work together is cause for accusations of betrayal. There was no such hyperbole when Putin and George W Bush praised each other, and spoke of their willingness to cooperate back in 2001 and 2002. Ah, but Putin has weaponised Wikileaks to influence the outcome of the 2016 election. Imagine that, those nefarious Russians taking an interest in the democratic elections of the major competitor superpower in the world. Could it be that maybe, the Kremlin wants to know what kind of regime they will have to work with in the immediate future?

Ok, that is enough attention for this nonsense for one day. Cheers and warm regards.
