Easel of Existentialism

You suffer like it’s an art form

Your colors represent the fall

from grace

That most people work
to avoid

Your canvass dies a little

each day and yet you charge on

Like a stick of dynamite destined

for the Columbia Gorge

Psyche in Chains

Macabre fascinations

grip the synapses in

a herculean, metallic grip

Tearing at the linear

cobwebs that hold me

together results in

an enigmatic tarantula

scraping at my innards

Misshapen manifestations

emerge from malignant

Mortuaries inside my mind

Reprieve only comes

with sleep and

sleep only comes

with acceptance

Adam, Your dark is like a gentle lap of familiarity and I welcome it for the knowledge I gained through it and through the words of poets such as yourself who have no fear to share the dark; you make it acceptable. You also make it highly entertaining, being so fascinatingly hypnotic, and worthy of being adapted and showcased on stage production. Thank you.
