Decades ago, Dr Riek Machar-Teny was fighting both Bashir and Garang to liberate South Sudan from injustice and corruption, but many Sudanese are unaware of who freed them from a regime of dictators.

In 1983, Dr Machar-Teny tried very hard to change the Sudan People’s Liberation Moverment (SPLM) following his arrival from the UK, as a PhD graduate, but many SPLM members under Dr John Garang De Mabior think that his democracy advocates interrupted their policy of communist movement.

For the first time in the high command meeting Machar-Teny questioned the vision and mission of the movement, this raising the tension between him and Garang.

In 1985 Samuel Gai Tut, by then the leader of Anya Nya II, was killed by Garang after advocating for separation of South Sudan from the whole of Sudan.

Dr Riek Machar-Teny and Dr Lam Akol Ajawin split from the SPLM and formed the SSIM/A or Nasir faction in 1991.

Garang and his allies rush to the world and neighbouring countries, decamping the Nasir faction as a tribal movement, but later on the separation that Dr Machar-Teny had advocated for was enjoyed by Dr Garang even though he killed many people who supported the separation.

Dr Riek Machar-Teny’s recent ‘40 days‘ in the bush means he reduced the pain that the South Sudanese people will be facing in the struggle.

For example, the Israelites spent the same 40 years in the wilderness until they reached the promised land.

Likewise Dr Machar-Teny has become the new messiah for South Sudan.

Another example is Jesus who spent 40 days when being tempted by Satan but after resistance, he freed the world.

Dr Riek Machar-Teny is the new Saviour for South Sudan for those who believe it or not.

He faced starvation for forty days and nights and accordingly delivered the message of a liberator to the world.

Jews were humiliated but they now have their state, likewise the Nuer’s isolation will surely lead to a newly born nation where everyone will be free.

When he advocated for separation he was almost killed while going to Khartoum.

In 2005 a peace agreement was signed by the SPLM and NCP ruling National Congress Party ruling party in Sudan.

Dr Garang was the first to test how good the separation was, likewise Salva Kiir and his allies will never understand until the liberation is complete in their presence or absence.

‘Forty’ means the freedom for all is in hand and there will be no more mourning, corruption and tribalism in South Sudan today and tomorrow.
