Is it time for England to declare Independence?

Oh to be a fly on the wall in respect of the meeting Mrs May is to have with the constituent countries of the UK.

This is one Meeting which is overdue but I am pleased it is to happen, especially with the most recent statement coming from Wales.

If Scotland cannot survive on its own then Wales certainly cannot.

The reader will note Mrs Sturgeon wishes to set up an Embassy/Trade Centre of sorts in Berlin.

How gracious of her when she is not yet representing an officially independent Country. The reader will realise even more so why a border should be in place between England and Scotland.

Such a betrayal on so many levels and I am doing my best not to refer to them all herein.

That said, if all the elements of the UK are to split up then England must declare its own Independence and the Government and Her Majesty The Queen will have to sort out Royal Assents/Descendancy as Scotland should revert to their own distinct Queen, alternative currency not the English Pound, pay for its own conventional Armies, etc, as should Wales, and they already have their own Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Charles.

I leave a Caveat in respect of Northern Ireland as it has its own special unique requirements and has always been loyal to The Crown and England/UK to the point of severe loss of life. Some in the UK have often ‘treated’ their loyalty as if with unrequited love yet the Northern Irish put the Scots (and now the Welsh it would seem) to shame on this issue of loyalty to the UK and Her Majesty The Queen.

Even within England, Cornwall likes to think of itself as independent so will England become a Federal Country, each County declaring independence?

What about mongrels such as myself, born in Yorkshire but do not know it (apart from two weekend visits as an adult) – my Parents’ vocation took them everywhere in the UK and even a Dependent Territory, so I lived everywhere but belong nowhere. Add to the mix, my Father was English and my Mother was born in Scotland.

My first school was in Wales, first official photo as a child taken on holiday in Northern Ireland (my Parents lived in both the North and the South).

As a child I was confused why sometimes the Country where I lived was called Wales one minute then England – various Counties thereof (and Guernsey) so I asked my Mother is England and the UK not the same thing? She thought for a moment then said “mmm, well yes and no, but at the end of the day we all are really together”. Those were the days, and she was a Proud Scot too! This is what our loyal Joint Service Personnel thought in all wars and I think of a Bomber Pilot and Co-Pilot one English the other Scottish who gave their lives side by side and were buried side by side in one military cemetery – will they now be separated?

If the Constituent Countries want separation despite the pleadings to stay then I think England should set the lead.

Then it would be interesting to see if the people of the other UK Countries really are being truly represented.

Mrs May knows that the whinings and moanings of Mrs Sturgeon & Co, are nothing to what will happen if Brexit does not mean Brexit!

It is time for those with vested interests who deny the outcome of the Referendum to grow up and act politically mature.

Life was better before Europe and could be better again.

For one thing a seven year contract still being argued about between Europe and Canada would not take that long between the UK and Canada who, after all is a Commonwealth Country, along with 52 others!

Let us not kid others – this is all a matter of ‘fingers in present European pies’ for some and then unseen forces no doubt whipping up unrest.

Added to which, their job has been made easier as not many remember the pre-Europe days now and the youth think leaving Europe is a frightening and backward step – no wonder in view of those trying to destroy democracy ‘as we know it’ by calling it a rose by another name, ie. a popularist vote. Hasn’t that always been the meaning of democracy as we know it? Tinker with it at your peril.

So go for it at your meeting Mrs May  –  and this said by someone who will never vote Conservative!
