America now has its own brexit

An American friend once told me that their country considered the UK to be equivalent to their canary in the minefield.

Miners historically used to take a canary in a cage with them when they went underground mining as canaries gave alarm if they smelt gases or noxious fumes that could threaten human life, thereby giving the miners time to escape any danger.

America now has its own Brexit – families and work colleagues will now have to endure and surmount differences.

In modern times some (not all) thought the Thatcher-Reagan years formed a political marriage made in heaven (others thought the word was ‘hell’). Many feel the two countries are presently reaping the seeds of that shared heritage via unrest within present times.

So, will a President Trump build a Mexican Wall whilst the UK requires at least a metaphorical equivalent between England and Scotland and also perhaps now Wales too – and what resolution concerning Northern Ireland?

What always surprises me, however, is how currencies are always affected. People rush to buy gold but its value is only secure once a buyer in the future buys it at least the same value so it is a financier’s equivalent of putting money under the mattress.

It was interesting to hear on the radio that Canadian Immigration website has crashed due to heavy traffic!

Perhaps now Americans will believe in the issues of Brexit as history has shown they only really understand fully the situations others go through when they experience the same issues and dilemmas.

Apparently it is said, some Americans are saying to Trump about Mrs Clinton – “lock her up!”

The Americans sing ‘God bless America’ and now He will have to as America could, like the UK and Brexit, (now a term relevant to both countries) be in dire need of divine help to preclude civil unrest taking to the streets!

That last line sums it up; call me a Nervous Nellie but why oh why is my heart laden with heaviness and erratic beats; the World doesn't need any more turmoil. I feel like I'm reading a non stop horror tale that has me fearing the worst.
