The Promise

1 Suffering never truly leaves

2 It is only a game we play- as I turn the corner it is there waiting

3 But you, my love, I hold that scent of you within

4 If I close my eyes from the tears and smoke – in that quiet room we share

5 There i hold you calm and strong and bright

6 Forward then – on with the game – if we spill our bowl – God will drink us down!

(After watching discussion on Charlie Rose of ‘The Promise”, the story of the Armenian genocide told in parallel with a love story)
