Boris being Boris about Brexit

Sad to say, that all things Brexit now seem to fall into three categories:

People are either so bored they are now totally disinterested

Others are so Leave orientated they just want to send a goodbye card to Europe and well, Leave.

The third group manipulate, contrive and/or spread false statements, start rumours, in fact anything to overturn the Brexit Referendum vote.

Against the above choices we must remember, if Britain wants to remain a democratic country, then the UK must leave Europe.

We are told by those who know these things, that leaving Europe is a tautological fact in that it also equates to leaving the Single Market, the Customs Union, and by default (as well as within the meaning of Leave), also leaving the European Courts of Justice.

Brexit means Brexit therefore does both linguistically and factually mean all of the above.

Britain can thereafter (if there is a will and a mutually agreed deal), still trade with the EU but as an independent Nation with different terms. However, the EU want their way to initial demands before the UK can get that far.

Therefore, we walk away as Mrs May has said, in that nobody wants a bad deal if it is worse than no deal. No coercion or extortion metaphorical or actual would be acceptable.

To most people we all understand and accept all of the above.

If only it had been left in the hands of whoever was Prime Minister of the day, many are saying. However, it wasn’t and Britain has paid the consequences ever since in the name of democracy.

The snag now is, instead of leaving the Government to get on with negotiations in Europe, and report back to Parliament as often as has been agreed, every MP, Party, Tom, Dick and Harry (including some broadcasters who should know better), are approaching key European figures themselves (unauthorised), asking ‘can we do this’, ‘what if we keep that’.

Cringe City of UK Embarrassment.

No wonder then, Boris being Boris, has said the EU can ‘go and whistle’ if they want €100bn for a divorce bill from the UK.

€100bn would qualify as being a bad deal and leaving without a deal would in such a situation be better. Well, does everyone want public sector pay rises in the UK or would they prefer to pay the EU extortion fees?

What is the bill for in the first place? We have never been given details from anyone.

Come to think of it, when did we lose all these British Rights to Europe as well?

I, like countless others, have to rely on people like Jacob Rees-Mogg to explain the Constitutional aspects of all this.

For the average person, the House of Cards practices and false rumours and facts, shared and expounded by birds of a similar feather, are all too much for the average (now disinterested voter in the UK) to understand or handle and besides, what power do they have other than already given in the Brexit Referendum.

Perhaps the time has come for Boris to convey some good old fashioned British straight talking and others should join him to balance the odds.

If the UK does not leave Europe then many people will never vote again, and that is the best scenario, the worst being a comment which I hear others saying, that of inevitable riots by those whose votes to Leave the EU were overturned by people who think they know, or consider themselves to be, better!
