Corroding Liberty

An erasure of Emma Lazarus’ “The New Colossus”

brazen

limbs land

at our gates. stand,

woman with torch,

imprisoned

mother of exiles.

command

that cities

keep ancient cries

silent.

to breathe free,

refuse

the homeless pest

beside the door.
