Disenchanted

Painfully aware of the festering doubt

trenching distance between us,

I choke on bitter colors as

stagnant sentiment falls

from lips of apathy.

Wearily feasting salt

from your mouth,

siphoning nectar from bitter tones,

I play your twisted game

whilst my languished heart

wastes achingly away.

Fated

For my heart you will surely shatter.

Yet, again I will place her remnants

into your crushing hands

to savor for mere moments

the taste of your soul,

giving everything to be

anything to you.

The very breath I crave

will steal away my last,

and I will mourn your loss

when you are stripped of my sky,

tears streaming rivers

from foolish eyes;

painfully drowning

in your lies.

Forlorn

Another day slips to solemn night

as I stand breathless

beneath a star kissed sky

aching for daylight,

wishing away the empty moments

I am left to drown in your silence.
