wake up

still

on the pilings of your dream harbor

your dream osprey stands on a fish

stretches his beak

and flaps

to welcome you to dawn

his pasture

and the rosy light on a clear blue field

August

spellbound by the ghostlike

mists at dawn over the harbor

nobody’s moving around

a seagull’s feather

floats on the glassy

surface of the water

like a tiny dory

abandoned by

a drunken

faery in the night

i missed a lot of parties this summer

but i’ve noticed

a lot of things
