DicTweetership

America has become a DicTweetership

With policies and positions

Handed down by official decree

In ambiguous, meaningless

Collections of 280 characters

Containing arbitrary quotation marks

Deflective declarations of innocence

And sudden capitalized stress points

Indicating the alchemy necessary

To show an energetic belief

Has been turned into a Truth

And the source –

The DicTweeter himself –

Expects a followership

Of readers

To believe

Agree

Get struck blind

And comply

By falling in line

Mindlessly

Without questioning

The questionable facts

As presented in the social media

Attacks that have replaced

Charisma

Intelligence

Dialogue

Vision

And leadership.

Author of the books, Buddha Bastinado Blues and The Kill Gene, Ben White thought he was a poet, only to find out he is not a poet at all. He is a witness. What he writes is testimony.
