Plantation Logic

The trends he inherited

Have allowed the president

To point to the unemployment rate

Of Blacks

In America

And deny the racism

Of his behaviors…

Basing the degree of racism

On the level of unemployment

Would lead to a logical argument

That full employment

Would equate to no racism

And that would mean

Slavery

Wasn’t racist

At all

Ben White

Author of the books, Buddha Bastinado Blues and The Kill Gene, Ben White thought he was a poet, only to find out he is not a poet at all. He is a witness. What he writes is testimony.
