The Life

Sitting with you in the days before the earth stood still–

Before elephants died with their ivory trunks taken–

Before the humming bird tongues were swollen–

Before the earth revolved and saints spoke–

Love became the language of the stars–

We all believed–

We had the gift of life.

I Have Always Loved the Wind

I have always loved the wind.

It’s companionship and language.

It’s reassurance and shadows.

The way it moves my soul.

It’s rehabilitative spirit.

It’s eerie quality — lifting the vale on days of grief.

We have become even closer these days of uncertainty.

Deepening our friendship.
