The Spread

Limit the news

and blood still

seeps under our door

through the silence

crying peace, peace

when there is no peace

We awake in comfort

when those others don’t

We feast to celebrate

when others can’t

All the while what

else to do but be

kind to one’s own

kind and all yours

out there where

kindness needs

most to spread
