I Am Alone

“I am alone,” he cried.

No one likes him. Poor illogical, egocentric, coddled rich boy

The words spoken from an intrepid fake warrior’s mouth

Seeking comfort from his dwindling over-the-edge supporters

How do you like him now, you lovers of fakeness?

Never fear help is on the way

We the people are on our way to save the union again

But as usual the laggards will lag behind

But then racists and self-serving misogynists with criminal tendencies

Have never fared well with the masses of working people

Who have felt the thrust of their hatred and exclusion

But the wheel turns in favor of advocates for justice for all

Maybe we can relax for a bit but never completely

For there will be another onslaught by Caucasoid greed

Bent on dominion over earth and its peoples

Beware! Today, they’re not dead just hibernating like zombies

But we the fearless will forever stand vigilant

Armed with courage, faith and enforcing bonds of Love

Guarding the hallowed ground of liberty

Warding against the ever evil antagonists of free people

We repel their obstinate, insatiable self-indulgence of

Material gluttony that distorts and perverts their vision of brotherly Love

And seeks to destroy the dreams dreamt by men of goodwill

Who established equality in America and set it on a progressive path

Rising Rainbows

Mid-Term Elections Are Done

The day the rainbow shone bright

Wisdom rose, the Oracle wept

The dove gasped life again avoiding its last breath

Bringing me to my knees

Upside down lives felt aroused

White hope was dying but not soon enough

I sit and write meaningful, hopeful words

That shoved me to an anxious future

This morning frijol (pinto) bean soup filled my gullet

Mixed with chilaquiles (like tortilla chips) and hot sauce

Still, I contemplate a dreaded tomorrow

With never-ending headaches and more intense times

There are no secrets anymore

The dark remains in place, for a short minute

But worse than being depressed with today’s news

Is you not loving me.
