Not My Good

If I am a liar, a womanizer, a pervert,

hateful, arrogant yet wilfully ignorant,

and a vicious coward,

how could you not despise me,

you who know so much

but do not know the Lord.

Though I am all these,

graceless, and for sale too,

yet I use all for the Good:

enslaving women to host the unborn,

shaming everyone to live as prigs,

forcing the sick to live out their agony,

am I not just another sinner

doing His holy work.

I have built satellites, worked in the operating room, been in a cult, …

I earn my living as part of a group which is trying to understand and treat head injury.

In my poetry and short blog pieces, I want to express ideas with unambiguous clarity and intensity.

I willingly sacrifice rhyme and meter, art, cleverness, elegance, and beauty for these.

All in the name of god. I've been wondering too. Loved this, Don.
