LIMBS
Limbs lost far
away to a war
not asked for
Courage and
duty pitted against
hate
Thrust without
armor into
the smoke
A WALK IN WINTER
In nature we seek
answers for things
we can’t find
Comforted by its
magnitude we imagine
things we want
Messages sent
over the wind in
the moan of trees
In the dark we
know there’s more
than we understand
Then walk back to
our lives warmer
for the cold
