Understanding the Republican Cult

You have to recall Hitler

Ordering his men in Moscow

To fight to the last man

You have to think

Of Paul Ryan celebrating

A teacher’s dollar raise

You have to imagine

A Blue Apron box

Arriving on a doorstep

You have to witness

The annoyed brows of senators

As the disabled protest

It is a matter

Of eugenics—a matter

Of cannon fodder

Picture them siting on our corpses

Or better yet

Building a mansion over our corpses

A mansion

Large as the moon

And just as luminous

Think of this when you apply

Ethics when you think

Indictment

Think of this as you consider

The matter

The cult-matter the sliced

Artery the tank

In the museum of levitation

The war on breakfast
