uncertainty principle
because in this universe we are always
moving. father returns with peace in his
footsteps as though the clouds didn’t just
cry on his shoulders. brother talks about
his castle, his home; of the school & hospital
he built & how he turned his hometown into
tunnels where wishes are birthed. i write self
into a poem of vague meanings: boy with
camera, muse, guilt & some stolen dreams
from a mother who opens up with tears
every day she relives her childhood. because
in this universe we are never static. from the
mirror where we worked in a white hall,
choking with ties & white gowns; from
the road side in boots and protective coats,
helmet worn over heads. because in this
universe we can’t tell simultaneously where
we are & where we are headed to.
