cannibals

i

will eagles prey on chicks

for the fun of flights

if not for the long of flesh and blood?

when you clawed our children

in the deception of heights and promise of wings did you not return them to us in body-bags in debris…rotten in the scent of shells?

the wools of wails you yarned for us

are still the clothes we wear over our pains…

we cry daily…

ii

and when you visited our hot hurt huts

and required us of meat…in barks and roars…

do you even know?

that the flesh that hid betwixt your teeth was not venison from the hunters game nor the fresh beef from the knives of the slaughterhouse

it was the debris of our suns

from the ruins of your greediness…from your bombs…

cannibals…

if you took their lives was it not for their flesh?

iii

when you break into our depressed souls

and required us for wines…in bellows and yells…

do you even know?

that the wine you gulp with relish like fiends that you laughed over and boasted your helms of power was not the expensive wine sold in the streets or the assorted vintage on your table of bounty…

it was the blood drained from carcasses of our children whose itching thirsts you denied water of ease…

if you neglected their thirsts was is not for their blood?

iv

only a mad mother hen

would loose into the realms of dance

for the gluttons of eagles who eats her children and relish over the blood of their innocence…

o cannibals…

may their flesh rot the peace of your nostrils may they congeal and chorus restlessness for your intestines

may their blood cry ceaselessly within your blood may these gory springs bring confusion for your sleep

and may your nightmares begin today…
