Warm Embrace

Oh Summer, sweet Summer,

where art thou warm embrace.

On holiday perhaps to exotic lands;

leaving us barren without a trace.

Autumn leaves flew upon a cool breeze;

Winter’s crispy lips courted gentle snows.

Spring is now whispering to one and all

hoping we are done with the coolish freeze.

But now I’m left pouting with romantic regrets

and so miss the warmth of my Summer’s kiss.

Glory’s Wrath (an Ode to War)

Walking the walk;

you talk your talk.

Hot, humid days;

the jungles await.

Feeling the dream

a ghostly scream.

The General sees

by a lantern’s beam.

Creepy muddy paths;

blood soaked fields.

Raise your torn flag,

cherish glory’s wrath.

In the smells of hell;

death in a fresh grave.

Hear bugles and bells

Soul rides to the savior;

Charge on proud warrior,

name engraved in a citadel.

Just Done

I’m just done

hurting; crying,

living and dying.

Inhaling within

this golden cage.

Exhaling from within

a heartless, amorous

jealous filled rage.

Unshackled chains;

freedoms new age.

Silver blazing bullet;

now exit backstage.
