Prayer
I am awake,
feeling like
a sunflower’s
corona.
Happiness is my
corner store
as I swallow
the sun whole.
I toss
praxis
to ashes,
resting beneath
a dove
and rainbow.
Before me
are vibrant
twisted paths,
and stepping on one
I bathe
with an
iridescent chord
of geometric
light.
Awake,
I am asleep
in peace.
Summer Love
Our love
Is as solid
As rock quartz.
Your love
Cracks me open
With summer
Lightening.
Our mornings
Together
Are better
Than breakfast.
Trying to convey
My love to you
Is not always easy –
I become
A pencil
That cannot
Sharpen.
Outside
Of our time
I am lost
But when
You come home
Our place
Feels as
Lush as forest.
When we touch
I fly through air –
You are
Beyond my
Treasured dreams
As together
We are
Volcanoes
Rising out
Of the sea
With life-affirming
Love.
Without you
I am a
Nebulous
Blue-black
Silhouette
But when we speak
We are
Playful whales
Surfacing
For air.
Sometimes
I wonder
What you see
In me –
I must appear
To have
Praying mantis
Hands
And in June
Serenity
I love
To write words
For you –
When you’re
At work
I raise you
From the depths
Of my own mind –
Gently,
Sailing into light.
