We need Great Leaders, We need Peace Creators, not only Peace keepers and surely not Warmongers.
Mahatma Gandhi used to say frequently, “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.” It’s been almost half a century and we have not seen the emergence of a world leader who could lead this planet for a better tomorrow, towards a greener and happier 21st century.
Why isn’t the world getting visionary leaders like Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Junior and Abraham Lincoln whose appeal would echo, not only in the ears of their countrymen but the world around them, drawing inspiration from their words and actions.
Why is greatness of current political leaders diminishing?
Why is Aung San Suu Kyi, who fought against the military power, not able to protect and give justice to Rohingyas?
Why hasn’t Donald Trump met Hillary Clinton and offered her a senior position in his Cabinet and become unified against the divided UNITED States of America?
Why are political leaders of every country becoming selfish, thinking of their own country and certain sect/religion/caste of people living therein?
Why has the world moved to a Single Party regime like North Korea or China or Vote Bank politics like India, UK, US, France and other European nations?
The answer lies in the question itself. Current world leaders have become too myopic and believe success is defined as re-election and getting back in power or being continuously in political power. Whilst the leaders who were adored and remembered by the world moved for causes beyond nations, beyond geographies, beyond religion, beyond sects of people. For them the purpose was most important and the drive to bring equality and equal opportunity for everyone born on the face of this planet holding enormous significance.
Most great leaders never derived power from political success. For them it was reverse, people for whom they fought for, gave them political powers. They were not the greatest businessmen, they were not the greatest administrators nor were they highly qualified or intelligent, but they were great leaders who made a difference.
Single requirement which exists for World peace and egalitarian society is the deep embedment of thoughts and feelings for people.
For them all were equal, for them all were seen from the same pair of glasses. Thus bringing peace at the cost of war in other nations or harming other countries and its people was simply not acceptable.
We need such leaders to bring peace in Israel and Palestine, China and Japan, India and Pakistan, North Korea and South Korea. We need fellows who can lead us and direct us to the 21st century where technology can be used to connect with friends and relatives, to alleviate the pain of others, to give blessings to each other rather than spreading false news and make this world more unstable.
We must hope the universe is listening and preparing a constructive leader who would not cut the lines of others to make his line bigger, who would not call others ugly to make himself look beautiful, who would respect women bringing prosperity in every house and every home on Mother Earth.
