Emblems, a prose poem of what could have been
Flags wave above the vaporous chants of Rhinebeck NY protesters. Spittle of confetti rhetoric flies lightning speed through heated bodies. Lock ‘er up. Lock ‘er up. Shove a dildo up her ass. Inside the bookstore, Hilary signs another hardcover tome, smiles at the female customer before she turns to leave, face the crowd. What Happened ink drips from her bag, puddles behind her every step. Her smile, enigmatic, her book bleeds until it is nothing more than dry, dirty white pages.
