Bomb a City

(For the Children)

News reports make us think

We should take action

Against any country

Popping off

Chemical weapons

Against its own people,

Leaving children crying

From the pain and the fear

Of the atmosphere filled

With burning agents

Testing the patience

Of the world –

Or so we’re told

And made to believe –

Ready to relieve

The conflict

By delivering chaos

Into the mix

Where politics

Says it’s about

The women and the children,

But it’s not the people we care about –

Our concern

Is for the power demonstrated

By our well-funded arsenal

Ready to rain on their pain

And blow stuff up…

Saying it’s for the children

Simply allows us

To not feel guilty

About not feeling guilty.
