Will Someone?
Whenever the sun is down
the body succumbs to a worship
kneeling down a posture
heavenwards a bird circles
vultures have crept into my life
even praying is forbidding
the hills watch intensely
this dialogue of prayer
small mercies, let me close eyes
the hills are watching
the shrivelled dog, parched body
observes with glazed eyes like the moon
I am praying, a dialogue with these hills
as their contours fade into oblivion.
It’s raining someone says
come out, wash your sins
I am praying for these hills
I have known them since birth
will someone give them a voice to speak?
will someone hold back their visceral tears
will someone?
