The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan recently held a special ceremony to mark the International Al-Quds day to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.
The founder of Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini initiated Al-Quds day as an integral part of Ramadan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world. The day is marked each year on the last Friday of Ramadan.
Former Chairman of Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Raja Nasir Abbas of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM), Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Masood Malik, former Pakistan envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Sarwar Naqvi and Pakistan’s former ambassador to Iran, Khalid Mehmood attended the ceremony. Foreign diplomats, Pakistani officials, religious leaders, professors and analysts were also present during the event.
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mr Mehdi Honardoost thanked the distinguished guests, Ambassadors, Diplomats stationed in Islamabad, personalities and political authorities present at this event by accepting the invitation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan and presence in the Iftar Feast, being arranged simultaneously with Quds Day.
Furthermore he expressed his concerns over the attitude of the international community towards the war, blood shedding and conflicts in the Islamic world, especially in the Middle East.
“There are foreign imperialistic hands behind the occurrence of these wars and blood shedding, who have disturbed the stability and tranquility of the Islamic world for fulfilling their own interests. The wars during two recent decades in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan, which have been the result of machination and divisions by imperialistic powers in the Islamic world and rendered nothing except death and getting injured and dislocating of a number of oppressed Muslims in the world, destruction of Islamic countries and further weakening of Islamic communities. This US step is considered a new Balfour declaration and has hurt the feelings of more than one billion Muslims of the world.”
“In none of the eras of history, no nation of the world has to confront such sorrowful grief and atrocities in such a manner that through a world conspiracy, a country is completely occupied and its nation kicked out of its home and an alien group from various parts of the world is brought and lodged there. Real existence of a land is ignored and a fake existence is replaced by it, this existence is also supported by world imperialistic powers,” Mr Honardoost stated.
Mr Honardoost also emphasized the oppressive approach of imperialistic powers against Muslim countries, especially Palestine, “all the Muslim countries should, by utilizing their potential and strengthening of solidarity and unity in the support of that land in countering of usurper Israeli regime, take steps and resolutions of the OIC on the key issue of Palestine and the declaration of Al Quds Sharif as its permanent capital should be kept on its agenda. In this regard Hazrat Imam Khomeini (R.A) Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran named the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramazan as Quds Day, so all the Muslims in the world cover in an organized manner can protest against silence of Imperialistic powers to Israel and suppression of Palestinians and take steps in favor of Palestine.”
The Iran Ambassador further said that “Quds Day does not only belong to the people of Palestine, rather it is a world day and a day of expressing unity and solidarity by the Muslims. This day is to show endeavor for getting back the denied rights of the oppressed people of Palestine and to express the hatred against the hegemonic Zionist system and illegal regime of Israel. Quds Sharif, as an important city of Palestine has special significance for Muslims because Aqsa Mosque, the First Qibla of the Muslims is situated in this city.”
Finally he urged that it was “necessary for all governments and nations, along with Islamic societies, especially two Iran and Pakistan with 200 million of population of the Muslim world, to utilize all of their endeavors and capacities to grant the rights of the oppressed people of Palestine, in the hope of unity and solidarity of the Muslims of the world.”
