What I hear on the radio
The race for life in the wild
demands strenuous athletics.
The predator is always faster
than his target. But the prey
dekes to zigzag out of sight.
Not out of mind. Apparently,
the prey animal is gifted with
the ability to forget. Trauma
of the chase doesn’t linger in
her nervous system as it does
in most predators. In ours.
