Auschwitz

Looking

at the snowflakes

falling down.

Memories of home

return

like a torturing

pain.

Snow is covering

the freezing huts,

whitening

the crematory roof.

A cheerful robin

is flying high.

Silence:

dreadful is the grief.

Silence:

death is coming on.

Life

Poetry

is stronger

than hate

Music

is stronger

than death

Bridges

are stronger

than prejudice

Words

are stronger

than silence

We proclaim

our faith:

Life.
