The Government of Ghana is beginning to feel the frustrations of its citizens as they protest openly against the consistent and protracted power crises the nation has been enduring.

The 16th of May saw celebrities lead thousands of Ghanaians to advocate for an end to the energy crises which have dragged on for almost three years.

The weekend’s  well attended “Dumsor vigil” gained headlines in both local and international media.

Ghana’s protracted power cuts are documented to have crippled businesses as well as grinding the economy to a halt following the rippling effects of high costs and layoffs of over two thousand workers.

Actress Yvonne Nelson, alongside fellow celebrities Sarkodie and Lydia Forson have all made their statements clear; that Ghanaians are truly feeling the pinch of the energy crises.

In the meantime, Ghanaians are planning to drive home a massive campaign should the pressure on the Government following the demonstration be ignored.
