The Experimental Mouse

That innocent mouse and that emotionless me

My hands gaining grip and that rodent yearning to be free.

Butcher me, and heroic he

Garrotte like me and mortal he.

Snatched his friends and seized his nibbles

For his words are unsaid, last wish quibbled.

That white fur and tiny hands

Those red eyes and whisker strands.

That dance in cage and artistic gaze

That speak in eek and walk besiege.

Seeing him live made me delight.

Sacrifice for humanity alas his plight..!!

From touch of love to twitch of pain.

His eyes reflect expression of disdain

O tiny white rodent!! You boost my foresight..

And for that inspiration, sadly your life is the price.

The plight of the experimental mice well described. Great work with rhyme and emotion.
