Will there be a General Strike in the UK?

With the inevitable announcement that Jeremy Corbyn has achieved an even further enhanced mandate to enable security (for now at least) as to his Leadership of the Labour Party, this could well precipitate a General Strike in the future. A catalyst of sorts because of the background factors.

The dubious/non-conventional way thousands have paid to join his fan club. Something seems undemocratic about it, metaphorically like selling one’s soul. It is sullied because money is involved and it is non-conformist in methodology.

The fact the Party can never heal wounds of those disenfranchised within his own Party as one cannot serve two Masters. ‘Convince a man against his will and he will remain of the same opinion still.’

He is the last of the key Parties to put his political house in order.

Even if he has millions of Members paying to join The ‘Labour’ Party, the Old School Labour will never vote for him as they are now well established with other Parties.

Regardless of the fact everyone says he is a Good Man, he will never press any Nuclear button if required so anyone at least (but not exclusively) middle aged or older would never vote for a person who has made such a declaration.

No matter how large a conventional Army may be, it just takes one button to wipe them and their country out in minutes or even seconds in some contingencies and that includes against the UK, a point Jeremy Corbyn and Nicola Sturgeon would do well to remember. Would they continue that stance and do away with conventional military services and just rely on meetings, debates and promises like Chamberlain did – and we all know how that ended up!

Added to all of the above The Fire Brigade and NHS Workers are probably relying on The Labour Party to assist in challenging the Government on their behalf but I doubt they will get anywhere. It is a political poker game now and the public do not necessarily share the views of those on strike, especially if they have had families bullied or neglected in hospitals or could not be discharged because both sides of the political argument were playing off each other.

In fact, despite this dire situation of simultaneous political dilemmas (and Brexit still awaits attention – also the Scottish question keeps brewing up then cooling down), it could be that elements are deliberately conspiring to manipulate a General Strike (a second Brexit Rose Vote by another name). Then there will most definitely be civil unrest and another election demanded ad infinitum!

The new Labour Army may also win an election not by the ordinary voters but the over-powering clamour of Jeremy’s fan club.

Theresa May should keep her ground as she has Mr Cameron’s example to recall if she weakens and calls an election.

Whichever way this is looked at, one way or another all these groups will no doubt be marching soon and if all combine to counter, group against group, then a General Strike is inevitable and if that happens we all know what may also result from conflicting factors, so this is a most delicate time and will take the Wisdom of Solomon to handle things wisely.
