150 years on the block by his own choice

An A student and all-state,

he went cheap to Nevada where he shined.

On the block again four years later,

he brought top dollar to live his dream.

He is a grown man now

gifted, beautiful,

kneeling in his tight pants, plastic armor,

ripe for the blow that will break his neck.

I earn my living as part of a group which is trying to understand and treat head injury.

In my poetry and short blog pieces, I want to express ideas with unambiguous clarity and intensity.

I willingly sacrifice rhyme and meter, art, cleverness, elegance, and beauty for these.
