The P.U.Ps release their first album

The P.U.Ps release their first album that has been on hold from 2015 due to some difficulties. The album is titled THE PROMISE and has been released 17 March 2017.

The P.U.Ps (Pretty Unbelievable Punchers) is a Hip Hop group from Tsantsabela, a small village in the town of Marble Hall, Limpopo, South Africa. It is a group of 5 rappers, (4 boys and 1 girl).

The group was formed by Retang Sekgobel who has been in the industry as an observer for quite a long time. Their music is produced by Tumelo Ngobeni who is also part of the singing group in partnership with Tabang Makena,who is their beatmaker, managed by Musa Gift Masombuka.

The group had three members before, where it was just Retang and the other two female rappers, breaking records of their village with their single LIFESTYLE in 2012. The group separated due to different interests and The P.U.Ps was formed in 2013 and was popular around the villages in 2015 with their two singles titled THE PROMISE and TSANTSABELA.

 

 

 

The group has performed and participated in competitions and events around the villages and towns. They have worked with Madileng Tebogo and Kiddo Zee.

In 2015 they recorded an 8 track album titled THE PROMISE which was finally released in March 2017 by Musa Gift Masombuka through CreateSpace Independent Publishing and is initially available for streaming on Soundcloud; ReverbNation; AudioMack and Noise Trade. It will soon also be distributed to online retailers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Musa Gift Masombuka

Born on 1st April 1998, bred in Siyabuswa and grew up at Regae township in Marble Hall, South Africa. First son on his mother’s and last on his father’s side. Published poet at an early age of 15. He is an Arts group leader at his community. A SATMA Awards nominee of 2014. Musa has explored South Africa through his writings, reciting poems and accompanying performing artists of his community.
