Nicola Sturgeon is a woman possessed with only one thing on her mind, almost to the point of obsession, and which is like the cries of a mermaid calling the sailors towards the political rocks.

‘Come, the history books await your name’!

Even her SNP Manifesto has woven therein her self appointed ‘Double Mandate’ to sit at the EU bargaining table with the Prime Minister (if indeed Mrs May is re-elected on 8th June), and negotiate for Scotland. What about the rest of us ?

Time for some homes truths.

England itself does not yet have a Devolved Parliament or First Minister, so Scotland, Wales and to some specially worded ‘guarded extent’ herein’, Northern Ireland (which we know is presently on hold until post General UK Elections which then enables further local discussions and Northern Ireland Elections). So if anyone is missing rights of country, it is the English, Nicola Sturgeon!

Next, along with everyone else, including the EU, Nicola Sturgeon has already been told that the majority of the UK electorate collectively (as is always done that way), voted to Leave the EU, which in itself negates the requirement, and any choice of retaining the Single Market (free movement of people/immigrants throughout all EU Countries and/or the Customs Union).

Rather, a ‘first of its kind’ separate and distinct trading deal is ‘hoped’ to be achieved to the benefit of ALL UK Constituent Countries, but if that is not possible, then Mrs May ‘has the British Mandate’ to say ‘no deal is better than a bad deal’. She does not have to consult with Nicola Sturgeon or anyone else, as she has the required Mandate of many millions throughout the entire UK.

The Prime Minister has also stated that she is not denying Scotland yet another ‘once in a lifetime’ Scottish Independence vote, but not until Brexit plays out, e.g. once the Scottish people have evidence for themselves if the benefits post Brexit are really quite good after all. That is what Nicola Sturgeon really fears in all this.

Until that time how can they choose? Nicola Sturgeon wants the people of Scotland to have a choice, so she must let them.

It is quite fanciful at best, and insulting at worst, to also assume that the rest of the UK, and especially the English, are to be political ‘saps’ with whom Nicola Sturgeon can trade after telling them she wants full independence from them.

If that view is reciprocal, then what? A hard Scottish Border and different currency, etc, for Scotland, military services, passport requirement, border controls, Monarch, loss of submarine base/ship building, etc? Nicola Sturgeon has not thought this through. The rest of the UK, and even the English themselves, will not ‘roll over’ to be part of a pantomime in which Nicola Sturgeon is to play the leading role.

As for all the EU migrants having rights to remain in the UK, yet no mention by Nicola Sturgeon of UK citizens living in EU countries having reciprocal rights, I would like to ask her, what rights, if any, do descendants of Scottish people have in the Sturgeon ‘Camelot of Nations’, especially those living in the UK; can they vote within her Utopia once they view the tartan flag that flies above the end of her ‘yellow brick road’?
