A Future, Past-Defined

Mars and Earth

Are around the same age,

So the scientific question

Is why Earth

Supports humans

While Mars

Is a barren,

Uninhabitable desert…

And now,

There’s a new space-craft,

Rover probe

Looking for archeological

And biological indicators

Of what happened

On the Red Planet…

And the first pictures

Being sent back include

Evidence of life

And society

Having found remnants

Of an executive order

From an ancient government

That NASA

Has just translated:

“I don’t believe in climate change.”

Author of the books, Buddha Bastinado Blues and The Kill Gene, Ben White thought he was a poet, only to find out he is not a poet at all. He is a witness. What he writes is testimony.
