On Watching Chasing Trane

The first time

The first time

The very first time

& God knows not the last time

I had a hard time to forgive my race was

The Birmingham Church bombing

That took the life of 4 young girls

I don’t think I have forgiven my race.

And the bodies keep piling up

In the name of a white man

In the name of a white God

In the name of a white dollar
