Joy Jo’s art explodes to the eye, drawing the viewer to a world in mirrored staring. Its vibrancy true, colours breathe their own light on civilisation’s next and last. Live within the image moving.
A city alight, golden in dream, alive to expansion. Streets sweep misadventure for what could be, a tangled swirl of thought and feeling. Scraping skies for answers, a sun speaks, its heart evolving, a start to beginning. Eyes look back to a present of the future conscious, a core overmining. Coloured from souls hidden, each indicating a life lived and lost; the chaos of being.
The sparkling glow of citied light heats stars, its sky burning. All around, movement is lost in a world its own design, a maze only to destruction. Down upon we spy smoking, dark light alive breathing panic to confusion, the buzz of thoughts separated, humming to one quickened rhythm. No way out but from afar, its edge curved inwards, tunnelling to nowhere. Escape unknown as the city in its own universe floats, bursting.
Epiphany, true light of the soul. Tree of hope, life from a world taken. Beauty to the ear, sweet music to the eye, senses stimulated to believing; light as it is and once was. To a breath the globe glows, alive only to soul feeling, a true dawn of nature’s heart giving. Breathing in death as another life grows; colour reborn. By man, a tree bleeds.
A sea amid a city, white lighting waves calm in its splendour. Resolute from depth taunting, man stands tall in constructed prayer, nature all powerful. Arrival from losing, reflective mirage to a wishful eye. All aglow the world inverted, down the only way up.
Fire breathes in oranged dreams to a metropolis burning, souls rising high from a grave storied; solidity in stone. Haunted from afar an imprisoned eye teases a past future, today’s audience watching one another, each its own spotlight.
