Who will stop the militants from killing?

Thirty five years ago a group was created by General Zia with the financial support and funding of Saudi Arabia for the killing of Shiite leaders and people in Pakistan. Today we continue to observe the constant killing of human beings all over the world.

The recent California killings is a horrid crime in the name of religion and is nothing but a painful, unacceptable and very shameful act on behalf of a Muslim couple, unfortunate also that both were originally from Pakistan. One of the killers it is being claimed was an active member, sympathiser or was under the influence of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP – the Army of the Prophet’s (PBUH) Companions) that divided into groups – Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ – army of Jhagvi) and Ahly Sunna Wal Jammit (ASWJ).

This SSP was created by a Mullah Haq Nawaz originally for local reasons, starting with the support of merchants of the Jhang city– who wanted to politically weaken a powerful lady landlord of the district Sayeda Abida Hussain – an ex-ambassador of Pakistan in the United States.

A Wahhabi sect mullah, Haq Nawaz had started targeting the Shiites, establishing the sectarian party SSP in 1980, declaring Shiites the non Muslims – heresy, heretical doctrine, novelty, innovation or apostate which is Bidet in Islam and results in death, Jhangvi successfully gaining momentum against in the process.

They used to quote a hadith that “every Bidet is going astray and every going astray is in hell fire’’ thus killers of Shiites would go to heaven. Later on they even started issuing the ticket for suicide bombards that if they killed Shiites they would be eligible to go directly to heaven without any enquiry on the Day of Judgment; which for any Muslim is necessary and he or she essentially has to go through, on the same day. The judgment day for any Muslim is discernible and a most fearful and nervous day in every meaning or sense.

The eighties was also the period of the war in Afghanistan by the Mujahideen against the ex-USSR, strongly supported by the United States and their allies, especially Saudi Arabia and other Arab oil-rich countries, the war led by Pakistan, its secret agency and the CIA.

Therefore within a short period of time the SSP’s main battle and scope had been changed from politically opposing Sayeda Abida Hussain in the local district but widening also to the killing of Shiite Muslims everywhere in Pakistan, countering the expected influence of the Iranian Islamic Revolution brought by Ayatollah Khomeini against the late King Reza Shah Pahlavi.

Nevertheless the SSP and its offshoot party LeJ also established links with Osama Bin laden who provided them with training and any other support that might be required by the SSP or other likeminded groups so as to continue the same activities in Pakistan.

Following the assassination of Haq Nawaz in 1990 the LeJ group, under the leadership of Riaz Basra along with Malik Ishaq, Akram Lahori and Ghulam Rasool Shah, had changed the pattern of terrorism vis-à-vis the scale and compass of the activity. They extended and enhanced the party roots in Pakistan and in a few years became one of the most dangerous parties in Pakistan. The death of American journalist Daniel Pearl was also assumed to be the work of this organisation as they became the largest killer of Shiites in Pakistan.

The point of this brief introduction and its relation with the California killings is simply that all these terrorist groups were/are supported by not one individual but were somehow, and still are being patronised by those who repeatedly use that most popular of phrases ‘War on Terror’ or ‘Global War on Terror’.

Why were the SSP, LeJ and ASWJ or many other terrorists not eliminated by Australia, Canada, Pakistan, Russia, United Kingdom, US, India and also the United Nations who had designated them as terrorists?

These groups or parties or their leaders are still active and participating in socio-political and religious activities without fear that they will be banned or declared as terrorist organisations.

They even participate in elections with a different name and/or supporting the political parties in their influential areas. These groups are all predominately Punjab based parties and have great influence in the lower Punjab where one of the San Bernardino killers, Tashfeen Malik came from.

At the same time it is being reported that all her close relatives are active members of the LeJ/ASWJ groups, if we are to believe that Tashfeen Malik was in contact with Mullah Aziz of Lal Masjid (Red Masque) of Islamabad, who is a very open and vociferous supporter of all Islamic militants throughout the world and also comes from the lower Punjab.

It would not be surprising news for anyone that ASWJ, LeJ or SSP are in contact with the ISIS Khorasan Chapter, according to reports. If she was a member of any of these groups then will involuntarily be a member of ISIS also. Either this or she may perhaps have developed contact with ISIS secretly during her stay in Saudi Arabia.

However it is very much clear to everyone that Syed Rizwan Farooq was born in the United States and educated or reared in its society, such a modern society of people seemingly inclined toward militants, something we are observing in reference to Europe in particular.

People who are born and reared in France, UK, Belgium or other European countries are willingly moving toward a more dangerous world – the Middle East – to join the most extreme and cruel terrorist organisation fighting for nothing but the killing of Muslim fellows.

What kind of adventure is this? The reason and hidden point of their sub conscious needs to be explored to determine the best way of dealing with such people.

It could not be justified either that Muslims were targeted in history, forcing these militants to stand up for any kind of killing. No, it is mediocrity of another level.

Who is arguing this must not forget that this killing essentially is not for the Ummah/Muslim community to unite against any other religion or community but is principally within Muslims which ‘school of thought’ is true and is justified to rule.

It is definitely not a ‘Clash of Civilizations’ fighting. It was Osama Bin Laden that to some extent was foolish enough to dream of conquering the world or that the Western World could be defeated. ISIS does not have any specific target and such vision either. They are creating a mess out of nothing.

However, different and indirect groups might have interpreted Islam differently and it could be this potentially pushing them toward this kind of jihad or killing. Besides, as many are assuming very rightly that if Europe, the United States and their Muslim allied countries sincerely decided to stop all of this then it would only be a matter of five years or so before the militants were consigned to history.

Thus it is clear that the ‘War on Terror’ is nothing but a simple phrase and without a true spirit. Rather they have left the world at the mercy of a few thousand terrorists to kill innocent people and put liberal Muslims in a great depression. If anyone is not aware of how much Muslims are being demoralised, it would be a great injustice.
