Three-Dimensional Political Games

We thought events in 2016 were unusual, yet now, when 2017 has newly commenced, one is left wondering if the international world of politics is enjoying a mix of poker, multi-tiered chess, post truth bluff and double bluff, anti diplomacy, or inverted trust causing America’s trust in its own Secret Service to implode as it struggles to work out ‘who is playing whom’, and what the antidote may be, especially as nuclear darts or worse may also be thrown into the mix.

During the years of old style politics there were rules of metaphorical engagement as well as actual ones and therefore leaders of countries and diplomats knew where they stood, in the main, and what was going on.

One is prone to wondering presently and/or Presidentially, if a game plan exists in general as if not, what is this current scenario screening which may be going on in the background?

To shed doubt on which country is doing what and who actually is in charge of the respective secret service agencies is a new but clever ploy, albeit most dangerous to ‘cry wolf’ when nuclear weapons are in the mix and various advisors are the very people acting as primers by what they say to their leaders. But is it actually them saying it or are they inadvertently, knowingly, the messengers of other political masters?

To initiate serious weaponry or send in troops is a serious enough matter without having to take into consideration the element of doubt from one’s top inner circle.

Therefore, is this a primary state of flux, or secondary factor to something else that this generation may never know about, perhaps hopefully so.

A maverick President in maverick circumstances confirms there are no game rules, in fact the name of the game is not even known.

Sun Tzu may provide the answer and even the Bible tells us that the overseers have overseers.

President elect Trump is a shrewd businessman so ironically his capacity to see the market trends and think laterally are key talents he will have to rely on to work out who he can trust – and all this before he is even inaugurated. Another first in history.

The international world of politics has a powerful breeze bursting through, the likes of which has never been seen before, and probably never will be seen again for a long time to come.

One can only hope a new form of enlightened rhetorical politician emerges from all this so they represent the electorate more closely by words and deeds and that maverick becomes the new norm.

If one doesn’t know what to expect by way of content presented in debate then that is a good sign in some ways in order to eliminate cliché stances and afford honesty and integrity a chance to emerge.
