the lucky spoon

slowly watch the spider

come down from the

ceiling

remember why you gave

up drinking gin in your

twenties

put on some coltrane and

look for the lucky spoon

enjoy your failure more

than they deem reasonable

explain that the cosmos

didn’t know what to do

with you and this planet

was your punishment

laugh at the threats of

violence or arrest

you have way too many

scars for them to think

this is your first rodeo

but there can’t be a

revolution without

some blood being

soaked into the soil

aquarius

my horoscope today

said creativity will

serve me better than

logic

that’s the easiest

way to sum up all

my years on this

planet
