There are many incidents and accidents ignored by us as a nation but some leave a permanent scar in our minds. Recently, a man chopped off the foot of his small 12 year old son in his home in Kasur, Punjab on a trivial matter of sibling fighting which led the enraged and furious father to draw an axe lying in the home and strike it at the leg of his son.

Following this completely inhumane, barbaric and hostile attitude on the part of father, the boy is still in critical condition according to reports and has been moved to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. It has been reported also that the police have now arrested the Father.

Many such horrid and callous cases are reported across our country where habitual beatings by parents handicap their children for life. The corporal punishment or any other humiliating or degrading treatment to children by parents in all its forms must be forcefully stopped by implementation of the Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Bill, 2014.
